Standard Chartered Bangladesh (SCB) has won two awards at the ESGBusiness Awards 2026- the Health Equity and Inclusion Award and the Job Creation Award. The awards were announced at a programme in Singapore on 17 September, said a press release on Tuesday.
The Health Equity and Inclusion Award recognises the bank’s healthcare initiatives across 100 unions in six geographies- Barind, Beel, Char, Coastal, Hill Tracts and Haor- directly benefiting more than 30,000 adolescents and young women and indirectly reaching a further 100,000 individuals.
The Job Creation Award recognises the bank’s work on sustainable economic opportunities and workforce capacity, particularly among vulnerable communities, youth and women. Initiatives include “Giving Wings to Dreams for Youth Empowerment” with UCEP, “Empowering the Future” with BRAC and “Generation Unlimited’s Passport to Earning” with UNICEF.
SCB CEO Enamul Huque said, “Receiving these two accolades is a testament to our commitment to creating meaningful impacts for communities and supporting those who need it most. True sustainability is about making positive changes in people’s lives, whether by improving access to healthcare or helping individuals build secure, independent, and dignified livelihoods.”
