Parents of the prime accused Faisal Karim Masud have given their statements before a court in a case concerning the attempted murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Manirul Islam recorded their statements on Wednesday. The parents are Faisal’s father, Humayun Kabir, 70, and mother, Mst Hasi Begum, 60.
A public prosecutor of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court said the duo were brought to the court lock-up on Wednesday. As they agreed to give confessional statements in the case, the investigation officer applied to have them recorded, after which their statements were taken.
Earlier, in an operation on Tuesday around 5:30am, RAB-10 conducted a raid at Hasnabad Housing in Dakshin Keraniganj Thana, Dhaka. Faisal’s father Md Humayun Kabir and mother Mst Hasi Begum were arrested during the operation.
