Police recovered the severed body parts of a woman packed inside a bag from a dirty canal at Hakkarpar, near Balur Math No 10 in the capital’s Adabor area on Saturday afternoon.

The bag contained a head, two hands, and parts of the body, whilst her two legs have not been found yet. Police are currently carrying out a search to locate the missing legs.

Adabor Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Jahidul Islam told TIMES of Bangladesh that the head, two hands, and body parts were found inside a bag resembling a schoolbag. He added that police are actively working to trace the missing severed legs.

Police suspect that miscreants murdered the woman, dismembered her body, packed the remains in a bag, and left it on the canal bank.

According to station police, passers-by grew suspicious after noticing a bag lying on the canal bank for a long time. Driven by curiosity, local residents pulled the bag, whereupon a hand first emerged from inside, followed by a head rolling out of the bag. The locals subsequently reported the incident to the police.
