A fire broke out in the Kalshi slum in Mirpur, Dhaka, on Monday evening, according to Fire Service officials.
Fire Service sources said 15 units were dispatched to the scene after receiving information and worked to bring the blaze under control.
Locals informed the Fire Service after seeing smoke suddenly coming out from a house in the slum, officials said.
The cause of the fire could not be confirmed immediately. No casualties have been reported so far.
The fire was brought under control at 9:35pm according to Fire Service officials.
Police are currently questioning a man held in custody in connection with the event.
