The Commonwealth of Dominica has established two primary routes for individuals seeking citizenship under its current regulations, offering a choice between direct economic contributions and strategic real estate investments.
These pathways are designed to provide flexibility for applicants, allowing them to either support national development or secure tangible assets within the country.
Economic Development Fund
One major route involves making a non-refundable contribution to the nation’s Economic Development Fund. For a single applicant, the required contribution is set at $200,000. In cases where a main applicant is applying alongside dependents, the contribution increases to $250,000, which covers up to three qualifying dependents.
The regulations further specify costs for additional family members. Each qualifying dependent under the age of 18 years incurs an extra cost of $25,000, while the fee for each dependent over the age of 18 years is $40,000.
Real estate investment options
Alternatively, applicants may choose to pursue citizenship through the purchase of real estate. This pathway requires a minimum investment of $200,000.
Investors who choose this option are subject to specific regulations regarding the resale of the property.
The asset may be sold on the open market after a period of three years. However, the property can only be resold to another individual seeking citizenship through the investment route after five years have elapsed.
