BNP standing committee member and lawmaker Mirza Abbas on Thursday attended a session of the Parliament for the first time after undergoing prolonged medical treatment.
Abbas joined the session at around 3:50pm, while Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad was presiding.
As Mirza Abbas entered the chamber, the speaker welcomed him, saying, “You have returned to parliament after a long time following treatment. Welcome.”
Earlier, Mirza Abbas arrived at the Parliament complex, where officials from his office welcomed him. He later went to his designated office and began his official activities by reviewing several documents.
Mirza Abbas fell seriously ill shortly after the 13th National Election and subsequently stayed abroad for an extended period for advanced medical treatment.
He returned to Bangladesh after completing his treatment and attended a parliamentary session for the first time on Thursday.
