Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party, visited Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) Puja Mandap in Farmgate, Dhaka, on Monday afternoon to review security measures for the Durga Puja celebrations.

During the visit, the DG reviewed the overall security situation, the operations of deployed Ansar-VDP members, and the coordinated security management with the Puja celebration committee. He exchanged greetings and distributed gifts, said a press release on Tuesday.

He highlighted that increased CCTV installations and the coordinated immediate response through the ‘Sharodiya Surakkha App’ have made the security system more effective this year. He noted that privately organised pandals are also under the close monitoring of Ansar-VDP’s dedicated teams.

Sazzad Mahmud instructed the members to maintain professionalism and harmony, stressing that no opportunity should be given for communal unrest through provocations or rumours. He also emphasised taking prompt and lawful action in any untoward incident.

Besides security, Ansar-VDP members are providing humanitarian services, including rescuing lost children and returning them to their families, and assisting elderly visitors. They are actively working to prevent teenage gang activities, harassment of women, and monitoring suspicious individuals.
