Legendary Bangladeshi singer Sabina Yasmin is being celebrated through a special episode of the popular television programme Shudhu Gaan Geye Porichoy.
The singer, whose career spans several decades, has earned a lasting place in listeners’ hearts with thousands of songs across film, modern and patriotic genres.
She also holds a special position in Bangladesh’s playback music, with her voice becoming popular through songs filmed on actresses from different generations.
The birthday special will feature Sabina Yasmin discussing her childhood, family and early days in music.
She will also share memories and experiences from her long musical journey, including the role her family played in shaping her career.
Senior film journalist Abdur Rahman conducted an extended conversation with the singer for the programme.
Through music and dialogue, viewers will get an opportunity to learn more about Sabina Yasmin and hear stories from her life that may be unfamiliar to many.
The special episode will air on Channel i at 10:20pm on Friday, 4 September. Its repeat telecast will be broadcast at 5:30pm on Saturday, 5 September.
