Voluntary humanitarian organisation MASTUL Foundation has stepped forward to conduct emergency relief activities in Nepal to help meet the urgent needs of people affected by recent flash floods.
This marks the fourth international humanitarian assistance initiative carried out by the organisation to extend support beyond national borders, following previous relief efforts in Gaza, Sudan, Türkiye, and other regions affected by crises and disasters.
The recent natural disaster in Nepal has severely disrupted the normal lives of thousands of people, leaving many families without homes, livelihoods, or essential belongings.
A significant number of affected individuals are currently facing acute shortages of food, safe drinking water, essential supplies, and necessities, enduring days of uncertainty and hardship.
Driven by a sense of responsibility to deliver a collective response at this critical time, MASTUL Foundation is directly conducting humanitarian assistance activities on the ground in Nepal to reach affected communities with essential aid.
The organisation has initiated measures to distribute food, essential relief supplies, safe drinking water, health and hygiene materials, and emergency humanitarian assistance, with plans to expand the scope of aid depending on the evolving situation and ground needs.
Highlighting the imperative of international solidarity, Kazi Reaz Rahman, founder and executive director of MASTUL Foundation, said, “Human suffering has no borders, and neither does humanity. The people of Nepal are going through a difficult time, and standing beside them in this moment is our humanitarian responsibility.”
“MASTUL Foundation is doing its best, within its capacity, to deliver essential assistance to those affected. We hope that people from Bangladesh will also come forward and join this humanitarian initiative.”
MASTUL Foundation is a non-profit, non-political, and voluntary humanitarian organisation registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau under the Prime Minister’s Office. For more than a decade, it has been working for the welfare of underprivileged people and children.
Among its notable initiatives are body burial services during the COVID-19 pandemic, relief distribution during the floods of 2022, 2024, and 2026, nationwide tree plantation programmes, livelihood creation through “Zakat Swabolombi” initiative, installation of tube wells, reconstruction of mosques, and “Mehman Khana” initiative, which distributes free meals every day across various locations in the capital.
In addition to its international relief work in earthquake-affected Türkiye and humanitarian crisis zones in Gaza and Sudan, the organisation operates its own madrasa, shelter home, and orphanage in Hazaribagh, Dhaka.
Under the applicable laws of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), donations, Zakat, and Sadaqah made to MASTUL Foundation qualify for applicable tax benefits as income tax rebates for donors.
