The anniversary of the TIMES of Bangladesh was celebrated in Dinajpur with a colourful friendly gathering and exchange of greetings on Thursday.
The joyous event was held at the office of Alpha HN Limited Company in Dinajpur town. Following a discussion meeting, the anniversary was officially marked by cutting a cake alongside the invited guests.
The event was organised under the overall management of Dinajpur Correspondent of TIMES Abdus Salam.
A number of distinguished personalities attended the programme as invited guests, including District Freedom Fighter Commander Mokshed Ali Mongolia, Director of Dinajpur Chamber of Commerce Manjur Morshed Suman, President of Journalist Union Dinajpur Sadakat Ali Khan, Vice-President Md Faruque Hossain, and General Secretary Mahfizul Islam Ripon.
Other notable guests included President of the Legal Aid Centre (ASK) Foundation Mohammad Abu Taher, President of Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) Dinajpur District Unit Syed Imrul Kayes Rupom, and Chairman of Universal Foundation Md Shah Alam Nur Akash.
Speaking at the event, the guests mentioned that the media serves as the mirror of society, adding that there is no alternative to objective journalism in revealing the truth.
They said since its inception, the TIMES has successfully earned the trust of its readers by publishing objective news.
The speakers expressed their hope that the newspaper would continue to portray the potential, problems, and voices of the common people of Dinajpur with honesty and courage in the future, while wishing for the publication’s overall success, prosperity, and longevity.
Journalists from various print and electronic media of the district were also present at the celebration. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and refreshments for all those in attendance.
