Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station arrested 14 suspected muggers during a 24‑hour drive across Cox’s Bazar municipality and adjacent areas.
The drive was conducted from 8pm Saturday to 8pm Sunday to apprehend robbers and muggers.
Sheikh Mohammad Ali, officer‑in‑charge of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station, confirmed the arrests Sunday night.
He said at least 35 muggers and robbers had been arrested in the past six days, while more than 100 were held in August.
According to police, the arrested individuals are accused in multiple cases. Legal procedures against them are underway.
They are Md Imran, 26; Md Khorshed Alam, 28; Md Abu Taher, 36; Sohel Islam, 32; Md Naim, 19; Redowan, 20; Md Rafiq, 22; Md Amir, 32; Md Saddam, 31; Mehedi Hasan Sagar, 19; Rezaul Karim Oni, 19; Md Ishan, 23; Md Zahir, 29; and Rabiul Hasan, 19.
