No fresh dengue-related fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours, though 367 new patients were hospitalised across the country during this period, according to a statement issued on Friday by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the newly admitted patients, 54 were from Barishal Division (outside city corporation), 79 from Chattogram Division (outside CC), 108 from Dhaka Division (excluding CCs), 29 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 67 from Dhaka South City Corporation, three from Mymensingh Division (outside CC), and 27 from Rajshahi Division(outside CC).
Within the same timeframe, 332 patients recovered and were released from hospitals. So far in 2025, a total of 29,328 individuals have recovered from the disease.
Between January and August 30 this year, 30,908 dengue cases have been reported, with men accounting for 59.5 per cent of the patients and women 40.5 per cent. The nationwide death toll from dengue this year stands at 118.
By contrast, in 2024, 101,214 people contracted the virus and 575 lost their lives. The year 2023 recorded the highest-ever figures, with 321,179 hospitalisations and 1,705 fatalities.
