State Minister for Health MA Muhit on Thursday called upon the country’s popular digital content creators and social media communicators to unite in driving public behavioural change to combat dengue, rather than relying solely on medical treatment.
Muhit urged creators to treat the initiative as a sincere social responsibility and passion to save lives, rather than merely a professional or commercial obligation.
He made these remarks at a special views-exchange meeting held in the conference room of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Breaking away from traditional government publicity drives, the ministry seeks to work alongside leading digital content creators to inspire positive behavioural shifts among public.
During the session, the state minister outlined a detailed three-month integrated plan dedicated to dengue prevention and public health protection.
Addressing healthcare readiness, Muhit shared that the Directorate General of Health Services and hospitals are making maximum preparations, which include conducting refresher training for 3,000 doctors, as well as securing adequate saline supplies and hospital beds.
However, he emphasised that expanding medical infrastructure alone cannot effectively curb infection rates and fatalities without active public awareness and direct preventive action driven by content creators.
“People listen to what you say,” Muhit told the participants, urging them to act out of an inner drive so that a single creative video might save a human life.
A concrete three-month action plan was finalised during the meeting. Participating creators and agencies have been asked to submit their preliminary concepts and outlines shortly. The official broadcast of the digital campaign’s content is targeted to run between 20 and 25 October.
