A child died showing symptoms of measles at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) within the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths at the hospital to 29.
Focal person of the hospital’s measles unit Golam Maula confirmed the matter on Tuesday. During this period, 26 new children were admitted and 18 returned home after recovery. 96 children remain under treatment at the hospital.
According to hospital records, a total of 1,270 children were admitted to MMCH with measles symptoms between 17 March and 12 May. Out of these, 1,145 children have recovered and returned home.
