Chhayanaut Sangeet Bidyayatan is set to finally host its long-awaited convocation on Friday, marking the completion of academic journeys for ten batches of students whose ceremonies were deferred due to the pandemic and subsequent national circumstances.
The convocation, honouring graduates from the academic years 1421 to 1430, will take place on Friday, November 28, at Chhayanaut Sangskriti Bhaban in Dhanmondi.
The programme begins at 4:30 pm, bringing together 480 successful students who will receive their completion certificates.
This year’s ceremony features Professor Fahmida Khatun, the celebrated Rabindra Sangeet artiste of the 1960s–80s, as the chief guest. Chhayanaut General Secretary Laisa Ahmed Lisa will deliver the welcome address, while the event will be presided over by Chhayanaut President Sarwar Ali.
The long-awaited convocation carries added emotional significance, standing as a collective milestone for a decade’s worth of learners who continued their musical education through years of disruption, according to the organisers.
