The election for the 2026-2028 committee of the Bangladesh Film Artistes Association will be held on July 3 at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation in Dhaka.
The decision was finalised during a meeting of the association’s executive committee on May 18.
Association president Misha Sawdagor confirmed the development while speaking to local media.
“At the meeting, it was decided that the election for the new term of the Film Artistes Association will be held at BFDC on July 3,” he said. “We hope the election will take place on schedule.”
Preparations are already underway for the contest, with rival panels expected to compete for leadership positions within the organisation.
One panel will feature Bapparaj and Rumana Islam Mukti contesting for the posts of president and general secretary respectively.
The opposing panel is expected to include Shiba Shanu and Joy Chowdhury.
The previous committee, led by Misha Sawdagor and Monowar Hossain Dipjol, completed its tenure on April 24 this year.
