According to case documents, while serving as a judge, Manik allegedly abused his position to acquire assets worth Tk5.39 crore beyond known sources of income. The case was lodged under the ACC Act, the Money Laundering Prevention Act, and the Prevention of Corruption Act.

In another case, the ACC accused Justice Manik along with former finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal’s wife Kashmiri Kamal, former RAJUK chairman engineer Md Nurul Huda, RAJUK member (finance) Md Abu Bakkar Sikdar, member (development) M Mahbubul Alam, former RAJUK chairman GM Zainal Abedin Bhuiya, and former RAJUK member Abdul Hai.

The allegation states that through fraud and abuse of power, the accused colluded to grab a plot originally allocated to another recipient in RAJUK’s Purbachal New Town Project.
