Dhaka University Mass Communication and Journalism Alumni Association (DUMCJAA) has formed its 2026-2028 executive committee, electing Elias Khan as president, Shahnaz Sharmeen Rinvy as general secretary, and MD Mashud Bin Abdur Razzak as organising secretary.
The biennial election and annual general meeting of the association were held on Friday at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) of the University of Dhaka.
Chief Election Commissioner Mahfuzur Rahman announced the results shortly after midnight following vote counting. Election commissioners Zahid Newaz Khan, Daulat Akter Mala, Abu Saleh Akon and Angur Nahar Monti were also present during the announcement.
According to the results, Elias Khan secured 275 votes to defeat his nearest rival, Dr. M Kamal Uddin Jasim, who received 126 votes in the presidential race.
Earlier in the afternoon, the alumni association organised a “Jogajog Utshob” (Communication Festival), attended by Road Transport, Bridges, Railways and Shipping Minister Sheikh Robiul Alam as the chief guest.
