Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman and outgoing Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma on Monday reviewed ongoing bilateral developments and expressed optimism over the future of Bangladesh-India relations.
High Commissioner Verma made a farewell call on the foreign minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka, according to an official statement issued by the Indian High Commission.
During the meeting, both sides briefly reviewed recent developments in bilateral relations. They expressed confidence that the partnership would continue to grow, driven by new capabilities and evolving aspirations of both countries.
The outgoing envoy reiterated India’s commitment to work closely with the people and government of Bangladesh. He said India would further strengthen people-centric cooperation across all sectors in line with development priorities of both countries and on the basis of mutual interest and mutual benefit.
Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman thanked Verma for his contribution to strengthening Bangladesh-India relations during his tenure. He also wished him success in his new assignment.
Pranay Verma thanked the foreign minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their continued cooperation in advancing relations between the two neighbouring countries.
