Bangladesh Football Federation completed its eight-day national trial on Monday at Birshreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur, selecting 36 players for the next stage under the FIFA Talent Development Scheme.
The programme started last Monday and brought together 128 footballers from last year’s BFF Under-15 National Football League. Coaches split players into groups and gave each group two days to perform. They organised full 90-minute matches to test players in real situations rather than drills.
Ten coaches and one physio oversaw the trial under BFF supervision. The structure allowed staff to assess positioning, decision-making and physical output across full matches. Players rotated through teams, which helped coaches compare roles directly.
BFF U15 National Football League Committee chairman Md Monjurul Karim said the federation now sees a steady pipeline. He pointed to the wider scouting base and the match-based format as key steps in identifying players who can move into national age-group squads.
The selected 36 players will enter the next phase of development, where BFF plans to prepare squads for future international competitions across age levels. The federation aims to build continuity from youth leagues into national teams through the Talent Development Scheme.
