Eleven BNP leaders from Sreemangal and Kamalganj upazila have been relieved of their organisational posts for breaching party discipline charges.
The decision was disclosed in a press release issued by the Moulvibazar district BNP on Monday.
According to the release, the action was taken based on a complaint lodged by Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury, a member of BNP Central Executive Committee and the party’s nominated parliamentary candidate for Moulvibazar-4 (Sreemangal-Kamalganj) constituency.
The decision was made in accordance with the party’s constitution and disciplinary standards.
Those relieved from Sreemangal Upazila BNP include Senior Joint Convener Atiqur Rahman Jorif, and members Abul Hossain and Abdul Mosabbir.
From Sreemangal Municipal BNP, Joint Convener Abdul Jabbar Azad and member Selim Mia have been removed from their positions.
The affected leaders from Kamalganj Upazila BNP are Senior Joint Convener Anwar Hossain Babu, and members Golam Kibria Shofi, Pushpa Kumar Kanu, Abdul Ahad, and Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury.
The press release further stated that the removal order takes effect immediately. The notice was signed jointly by Faizul Karim Moyun, convener of Moulvibazar District BNP, and Abdur Rahim Ripon, member secretary.
