A new song titled “Nari Jaay Bari” has been produced, centering on women’s emotional journeys and lifelong search for belonging. The track brings together prominent lyricist Shahid Mahmud Jangi and composer Pilu Khan, with vocals by three popular artistes of the current generation: Somnur Monir Konal, Antara Rahman and Masha Islam.
Scheduled for release on March 8 marking International Women’s Day, the music arrangement for the song has been done by Mir Masum under the banner of Aajob Records. An animated video for the song is currently being created by Mir Hisham and Saraf Chishti.
Speaking about the song, Shahid Mahmud Jangi said women spend their entire lives searching for a home of their own. “At times it is the father’s home, at times the husband’s, and later the son’s. But does she ever truly find a home that is her own? ‘Nari Jaay Bari’ revolves around this eternal question,” he said.
Pilu Khan noted that he and Jangi have worked together on various thematic songs over the past four decades. “This time, we have added another important subject to that list. I hope listeners will appreciate the song,” he said.
Konal expressed her delight at collaborating with what she described as two legendary figures. She said working with Jangi and Pilu Khan is a significant achievement in her musical career.
Antara Rahman said she found her own reflection in the lyrics as a woman. She described the opportunity to work alongside such eminent personalities as a cherished experience.
Masha Islam said she thoroughly enjoyed the collaboration. Referring to Shahid Mahmud Jangi and Pilu Khan as towering figures in the country’s music arena, she added that Mir Masum’s arrangement beautifully complemented the composition. She expressed hope that audiences would connect with the song as deeply as the team did during its creation.
“Nari Jaay Bari” will be available on all major streaming platforms worldwide from March 8, 2026. The animated video will also premiere on Aajob Records’ YouTube channel and across the social media platforms of the participating artistes.
