Fans often engage in heated virtual arguments on social media over their favourite actors, sometimes trying to prove that one star is better than another. Recently, such a debate has emerged between fans of Farhan Ahmed Jovan and Tawsif Mahbub.
However, the two actors at the centre of the debate have been close friends for around 13 years.
Jovan recently shared a photo with Tawsif and reminded fans that their relationship is far removed from the rivalry among their supporters.
“Before fighting and engaging in virtual battles over the two of us, remember one thing: we respect each other far more than you respect one another,” Jovan wrote.
The actors first worked together early in their careers in director Redwan Rony’s television drama Jhalmuri. They later appeared together in several productions and gradually became close friends.
Despite their busy schedules, Jovan and Tawsif still make time to meet and spend time together.
Jovan has previously said that meeting friends is important because it helps them feel better. Their conversations often involve jokes and playful teasing about their careers and personal lives.
Jovan’s latest post also drew comments from fans declaring either Jovan or Tawsif the better actor. One commenter, Rajib Abhi, pointed out that while fans may argue in groups and comment sections, the actors themselves can still sit together and chat.
Jovan ended his message by drawing a clear line between the fans’ rivalry and their friendship.
“The war is yours, the friendship is ours. The love is ours. You fight with each other as fans, while we, as competitors, sit together and chat,” he wrote.
