Police arrested a woman along with five foreign-made firearms and 96 rounds of ammunition during a raid on a bus in Khulna on Saturday morning.
The arrestee was identified as Suraiya.
Labanchara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) confirmed that the seized weapons, including three pistols and two revolvers, were being transported to Dhaka.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted the operation around 9:30am on a bus traveling from Satkhira to Dhaka, which was under surveillance for suspected drug activity. During the raid, the woman was apprehended with the firearms and ammunition in her possession.
Authorities suspect that Suraiya was employed by arms traffickers to carry illegal weapons.
