BNP continued its two-day training workshop for parliamentarians on Saturday, aiming to familiarise newly elected MPs with parliamentary procedures and legislative processes.
The second day of the programme was inaugurated at 10:30am at the BNP chairman’s office in Gulshan by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP Secretary General and Minister of Local Government.
The morning session saw participation from MPs representing Dhaka District, Mymensingh, Faridpur, and other constituencies in the Dhaka division, while the afternoon session will include MPs from Sylhet, Comilla, and Chattogram divisions.
Senior party leaders attending Saturday’s morning session included Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Vice Chairman Ahmed Azam Khan, and Osman Faruk.
On Friday, the two-day workshop was inaugurated by BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, with ministers, state ministers, advisors, and MPs from Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, and Faridpur divisions participating in the afternoon session.
A participating MP said the workshop is designed to help party parliamentarians understand parliamentary rules, procedures, and operations ahead of the new session.
The first session of the 13th National Parliament is scheduled to begin on 12 March at 11am, following its announcement by President Md Shahabuddin on 23 February.
Out of BNP’s 209 elected MPs, 146 are serving in parliament for the first time.
