Atletico Madrid moved up to third place in La Liga after a dominant 4-0 win over Osasuna on Thursday.
Jonathan David, Lee Kang-In, Robin Le Normand and Alex Baena scored as Atletico secured a comfortable home victory and moved to 13 points after six matches.
Atletico controlled the game from the start and David gave them the lead in the 24th minute. The forward scored from close range after Osasuna failed to clear the danger.
The hosts went into the break with a one-goal lead before taking full control in the second half. Lee doubled Atletico’s advantage in the 54th minute. David set him up and the South Korean finished from the right side of the box.
Le Normand made it 3-0 nine minutes later. The defender found the top corner after Osasuna failed to deal with a corner. Baena completed the scoring in the 82nd minute. Johnny Cardoso played him through and Baena calmly found the bottom corner.
The result took Atletico to 13 points and lifted them to third in the La Liga table.
Elsewhere, Sevilla claimed a 1-0 away win over Deportivo de La Coruna.
Miguel Sierra scored the only goal in the 52nd minute after a quick Sevilla break. Deportivo’s hopes of a comeback suffered another blow when Angelino received a red card following a VAR review in the 59th minute.
Sevilla held on against the 10 men to take all three points.
