Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has thanked his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi for his warm greetings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, expressing hope that relations between the peoples of Bangladesh and India would continue to be strengthened on the foundations of mutual respect, friendship, and goodwill.
In a Facebook post responding to Modi’s message, the Prime Minister wrote, “I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his very kind greetings to me and the people of Bangladesh on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. May the relations between the peoples of Bangladesh and India continue to be strengthened on the foundations of mutual respect, friendship, and goodwill.”
Modi’s Eid message to Bangladesh
Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed warm greetings to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and the people of Bangladesh on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Adha.
In a message sent to Tarique Rahman, Modi reaffirmed New Delhi’s commitment to strengthening people-centric cooperation between the two neighbouring countries, according to the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
On behalf of the people and the Government of India, he conveyed greetings to the “brotherly people” of Bangladesh on the auspicious occasion.
Modi said Eid-ul-Adha forms an integral part of India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage and is observed with joy and enthusiasm by millions of Muslims across the country.
Highlighting the significance of the festival, he said it embodies the timeless values of sacrifice, compassion and brotherhood, which are essential for building a peaceful and inclusive world.
