A bomb disposal unit of the Special Response Brigade (SRB) has cordoned off the Dhaka Intellectuals Graveyard after objects resembling cocktails and petrol bombs were reportedly found there.
A team from SRB-2 Special Company has secured the area, while the SRB Bomb Disposal Unit is conducting operations to examine and deactivate the suspected explosives.
In a press release issued on Monday night, the SRB said law enforcement agencies received information earlier in the afternoon about cocktail and petrol bomb-like objects at the old Trade Fair ground behind Ganabhaban.
A special team from SRB-2 and the SRB Bomb Disposal Unit later reached the spot and recovered 15 cocktails and five petrol bombs.
The SRB said it later received information about similar objects being found at the Dhaka Intellectuals Graveyard, prompting SRB-2 personnel to surround the area and begin bomb disposal procedures.
