Three previously unreleased songs by Australian rock icon Chrissy Amphlett have been recovered more than a decade after her death, writes BBC.

Amphlett, the frontwoman of Divinyls, became internationally known for hits including ‘I Touch Myself’, ‘Pleasure and Pain’ and ‘Boys in Town’.

She recorded the three songs with Tim Finn, former frontman of New Zealand band Split Enz, in Sydney in 1998.

The recordings were believed lost until Finn found the original two-inch tape in his garage in 2023. The songs will be released on Friday as an EP titled ‘Some Times’.

Finn recalled that he and Amphlett wrote the tracks over several days before entering the studio, with drummer Charley Drayton playing on the recordings. He described Amphlett as focused and praised her talent and charisma.

Finn said Drayton contacted him about the recordings in 2023. The tape remained in perfect condition, allowing the songs to finally be shared.
