Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha has been hospitalised in Bali after suffering injuries in an accident. The nature of her injuries was not immediately known.
According to an NDTV report citing sources, Nushrratt had travelled to Bali for work when the accident occurred. She has since extended her stay on the Indonesian island for treatment.
About a week before the accident, Nushrratt had shared holiday photos on social media.
The actress is also reportedly set to join Tiger Shroff’s upcoming film. The project will mark their first on-screen collaboration. According to a source quoted by Pinkvilla, the makers wanted an actress who could bring strength and emotional depth to the story. Nushrratt was among their top choices.
The source said her character is powerful and will present the actress in a new avatar. Details of the role remain under wraps. However, reports suggest that the character has an important place in the film’s story.
Pashmina Roshan, Abhishek Banerjee and Elvish Yadav are also reportedly playing key roles in the film, according to Bollywood Hungama. Nushrratt was recently seen alongside Sohum Shah in the comedy-thriller Ufff Yeh Siyapaa.
Nushrratt’s religious beliefs have also previously drawn attention. Last year, she visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, where she offered prayers to Mahakal and attended the Bhasma Aarti. She later shared a picture from the temple on social media with the caption, “Jai Shri Mahakal.”
Her visit drew objections from Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, national president of the All India Muslim Jamaat. He strongly objected to her visiting a temple and participating in Hindu rituals. He described the act as being against Sharia law and called it “gunah-e-azeem”, or a major sin. He also advised Nushrratt to repent and recite the kalma.
Nushrratt comes from a Muslim Bohra family. She has said that her family taught her to respect all religions from childhood. According to the actress, she has visited gurdwaras and churches as well as temples. She has also visited Vaishno Devi and Kedarnath and continues to offer namaz. In a 2025 interview, she said her faith would not stop her from visiting temples or praying namaz.
