‘Doraemon Castle of the Undersea Devil’ is gaining momentum at the Indian box office, with the anime film holding steady on its second day, writes Pinkvilla.

The latest instalment earned an estimated Rs2.60 crore on Saturday, registering only a 10% decline from its Rs 2.90 crore opening. Its two-day collection now stands at around Rs5.50 crore.

The strong start has put the film on track for an estimated opening weekend haul of Rs8-9 crore in India. If it maintains the pace, the film could become the highest-grossing entry in the ‘Doraemon’ franchise in the country.

Earlier films in the popular Japanese franchise have generally earned around Rs 5 crore in India, making the latest performance a notable step up.
