401 arrested in DMP raids within 24 hours

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 401 people and filed 26 cases during routine anti-crime drives across the capital over the past 24 hours.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the DMP on Wednesday.

According to the DMP, Tejgaon Division recorded the highest number of arrests at 74, followed by Mirpur Division with 71, Motijheel Division with 68, Wari Division with 51, Uttara Division with 42, Gulshan Division with 36, Lalbagh Division with 34, Ramna Division with 24, and the Detective Branch with one arrest.

During the drive, police seized a sword, a machete, a sharp circular disc attached to an iron rod, and an iron rod. In addition, police recovered 95 Yaba tablets, 70 grammes of heroin, 668 grammes of cannabis, and a private car.

DMP said the operations were carried out across various police station areas in the capital to recover weapons and narcotics. Legal proceedings against the arrestees are underway.
