Mitchell Starc struck twice in two balls to leave Bangladesh in early trouble in their second innings of the second Test against Australia in Mackay.
Bangladesh started their second innings facing a huge deficit after Australia were bowled out for 210.
Starc went wicketless in his opening over but hit back in his second.
He first removed Shadman Islam for one. Shadman got a leading edge and Marnus Labuschagne completed the catch.
Starc then struck with his very next ball. Mominul Haque was caught between playing and leaving as the ball went through and knocked back his off stump.
The two wickets left Bangladesh at 5 for 2 and put Starc on a hat trick.
Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto safely left the hat trick ball before driving Starc for four later in the over.
Bangladesh reached 9 for 2 after three overs, with Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Shanto at the crease.
Starc had already caused major damage in Bangladesh’s first innings, taking six wickets for just 12 runs as the visitors were bowled out for 76.
