The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has issued special instructions for all government, semi-government and private educational institutions to observe Victory Day with due solemnity and enthusiasm.
In a circular sent on Thursday to principals, headteachers and education officials of schools, colleges and madrasas, the directorate asked them to take necessary steps to implement government directives for the proper celebration of “Great Victory Day 2025”.
According to the instructions, all institutions must hoist the national flag at 9am on 16 December, perform the national anthem, organise student assemblies, and hold parades and displays on their respective campuses.
Schools and colleges have also been requested to arrange T20 cricket competitions, football, kabaddi, ha-du-du and other sports events with student participation.
In addition, the circular instructs district and upazila-level authorities to organise Liberation War-themed painting competitions and cultural programmes for children at convenient times.
