Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) will showcase 36 innovative research projects developed by its researchers at the three‑day Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026, organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The fair will be held from 12 to 14 September at the National Science and Technology Museum (Novo Theatre) in Dhaka under the theme “Innovate to Market.”
The details were announced at a press conference held by the Innovation Fair Committee on Friday morning.
The fair aims to bring universities, research institutions, innovators, investors and other stakeholders together to connect research and innovation with practical application and commercialisation. A total of 73 public and private universities, along with leading commercial banks and major corporate organisations, will participate.
Over the three days, 17 sessions and dialogues will be held, including six plenary sessions, six parallel sessions and five roundtable meetings.
BAU will display its 36 selected projects from different departments across three stalls. The exhibits will cover agricultural products, animal health, livestock production, fisheries resources and agricultural technology, alongside scientific posters and prototypes. Videos on BAU, as well as posters, leaflets and videos highlighting its other ongoing research activities, will also be displayed.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the fair on 12 September, while BAU Vice‑Chancellor Md Rafiqul Islam Sarder will attend the inaugural ceremony.
A seven‑member committee has been formed to oversee BAU’s research presentation and ensure the participation of students and researchers. Md Samsul Alam Bhuiyan, director of the BAU Research System (BAURES), is the convener, while AKM Ahsan Kabir of the Department of Animal Science is the member secretary.
Speaking at the press conference, BAU Adviser for Student Affairs GM Mujibor Rahman said BAU has numerous national‑level achievements, and the fair provides an opportunity to showcase them nationally and internationally.
He expressed hope that the displayed technologies would be commercialised for farmers and entrepreneurs, while student participation would help them understand how knowledge can be transformed into a “knowledge economy.”
The press conference was also attended by Innovation Fair Committee Member Secretary AKM Ahsan Kabir, BAU ICT Cell Director Md Rostom Ali, Haor and Char Development Institute Director Md Shahjahan, and several professors from different BAU departments.
