UNESCO and BRAC have signed an agreement to develop Bangladesh’s creative economy, with a focus on film, creative enterprises and cultural and community-based tourism.

The agreement was signed by UNESCO Representative to Bangladesh and Head of its Dhaka Office Susan Vize and BRAC Executive Director Asif Saleh.

The partnership will support the development of a national framework for Bangladesh’s creative economy. It will place particular emphasis on the country’s creative strengths, including cinema, crafts and tourism rooted in local culture.

These creative sectors support the lives and livelihoods of many people across the country. The collaboration aims to preserve cultural heritage while expanding income and livelihood opportunities for creative professionals.
