For emerging actress Tasnova Nijhum, success is not simply about becoming a familiar face or gaining celebrity status. She wants to build a lasting career through meaningful performances and establish herself as a skilled, respected actress.

Born in Mymensingh, Nijhum is currently pursuing a BBA at Bangladesh Agricultural University College.

Alongside her studies, she has been involved in music and dance since childhood. Her artistic journey began with dance, and she won a national-level award for her Kathak performances.

Her interest in acting eventually led her to television dramas. She made her acting debut in ‘Crazy Fan’, alongside Saidur Rahman Pavel, and has been working regularly in the medium ever since.

Maintaining a steady presence in the television industry is not always easy, but Nijhum has continued to explore different characters and genres. Her recent dramas include ‘Kufri’, ‘Chu Mantar Chu’, ‘Writer’, ‘Bhat’, ‘Shabanar Shongshar’ and ‘Nasib’.

Rather than limiting herself to romantic or family dramas, she prefers roles that allow her to experiment and develop as an actress.

Recently, Nijhum completed shooting for a single-episode drama titled ‘Bhuter Bari’. Directed by Megh Heem, it also stars Shahed Shahriar.

Although she has acted in supernatural stories before, she said this project offers a different experience. The drama is expected to be released soon, and she hopes audiences will enjoy it.

She has also completed work on the family serial ‘Ei Ghor, Ei Shongshar’, which is scheduled to air in the final week of this month.

She previously appeared in ‘Viral Poribar’. At present, she is focusing mainly on single-episode dramas and is scheduled for continuous shooting from 12 to 18 November.

Music is another of Nijhum’s interests. Her original song ‘Ek Nojore’ was recently released under the banner of CD Choice.

She has previously released two other original tracks, but acting remains her main professional ambition.

“I enjoy singing, but acting is at the centre of my life. I have loved music and dance since childhood, but I want to establish myself as an actress. I hope to win audiences’ hearts through natural performances,” she said.

Nijhum also dreams of working in films and on OTT platforms. However, she does not yet consider herself ready for the big screen and wants to take time to prepare.

She is more interested in story-driven films than commercial productions, particularly projects in which she can play the central female character.

For Nijhum, acting is a long-term pursuit rather than a shortcut to popularity.

“Acting is a form of dedication for me. I do not want to chase cheap popularity. I want to be part of projects that audiences will remember me for years later. My only goal is to develop into a complete and established actress,” she said.

She continues to prepare herself for that ambition, paying attention to both character selection and performance.

Although she is interested in expanding her work into films and OTT productions, she is in no hurry. Instead, she is waiting for compelling stories and strong roles that will allow her to grow as an artiste.
