The government has promoted 78 police inspectors (unarmed) to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) police cadre.
The Home Ministry issued three separate notifications in this regard on Thursday, signed by its Deputy Secretary Tawsif Ahmed.
According to the notifications, the officers have been promoted to the ASP rank and their services placed under the Police Headquarters.
The promoted officers have been directed to submit their joining letters to the senior secretary of the Home Ministry through the appropriate authorities.
The orders, issued in the public interest, will take immediate effect.
