Sonali Bank PLC has entered into an agreement with the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) to facilitate the collection of various fees through its Sonali Payment Gateway, aiming to enhance digital financial services in the agriculture sector.
Under the agreement, BADC will now use the bank’s digital platform to collect payments for irrigation services, fertiliser and seed sales, as well as license renewal fees.
The signing ceremony took place at Sonali Bank’s head office on Wednesday, where Md Rafiqul Islam, deputy managing director of Sonali Bank, and Sourendra Nath Saha, member director (finance) of BADC, formally exchanged the agreement documents.
Senior officials from both organisations were present at the event, including Sonali Bank’s General Manager Aklima Islam, Deputy General Manager Md Aminur Rahman Khan, and BADC Secretary Md Aminul Islam.
