Salma also confirmed the divorce, saying she did not wish to discuss it further. “Yes, we have separated. The separation took place on November 29. I do not want to say anything more. I just want to focus on my singing now,” she said. “I do not want to dwell on the separation. I want to sing good songs.”

Salma rose to national prominence after winning the second edition of ‘Closeup One: Tomakei Khujchhey Bangladesh’ and has since remained a regular presence in the music scene, delivering several popular songs over the years.

This was Salma’s second marriage. She was previously married to Shibli Sadiq, a former Awami League MP from the Dinajpur-6 constituency. The couple divorced in 2016.
