Four to five crude bombs exploded in front of Samad Super Market at Jatrabari intersection in the capital on Saturday evening, leaving a rickshaw-puller injured.
The explosion occurred around 7:30pm in front of Samad Super Market at Jatrabari intersection.
Jatrabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Raju confirmed the incident to TIMES, saying four to five crude bombs exploded in front of the market.
A rickshaw-puller was injured in the incident, he said, adding that police were at the scene and were investigating who was involved.
The injured rickshaw-puller was identified as Md Billal, 32, a resident of Osmaganj area under Charfesson Police Station in Bhola.
Following the incident, Billal was at Jatrabari Police Station. Police later sent him to hospital for treatment.
Police have tightened security in the area following the incident. Further legal action over the explosion is under way.
