The much-anticipated dark thriller ‘Rakkhosh’, starring actor Siam Ahmed, was released on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and has drawn significant audience interest since its opening day. Following an extended period of preparation, viewers have responded positively to Siam’s new on-screen avatar.
The film initially opened at Star Cineplex with 14 shows on Eid day. However, the number of screenings has since increased to over 20 in response to growing audience demand. The film’s team has expressed enthusiasm over the reception.
Speaking on the matter, producer Shahreen Akter Sumi said that audience interest in Rakkhosh is steadily rising. “The number of shows is increasing every day. I have received a very positive response over the past three days. If this trend continues, Rakkhosh could achieve something significant,” she said.
The film is directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, marking his second directorial venture after ‘Borbaad’, which starred Shakib Khan. According to the producer, Rakkhosh exists within the same cinematic universe as Borbaad.
Kolkata-based actor Sushmita Chatterjee stars opposite Siam Ahmed in the film. The cast also includes Ali Raj and Sohel Mondal, among others. Bollywood actor Natalia Janoszek features in a special song.
Notably, the production house Real Energy previously produced Borbaad, which was a commercial success.
Produced by Shahreen Akter Sumi and Azim Harun, Rakkhosh was shot across Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India.
