Raihan Rafi’s Eid release ‘Pressure Cooker’ has crossed a notable box office milestone, with the director confirming that the film has earned over Tk 3 crore from cinema hall screenings despite a limited release.
The ensemble drama, which features Nazifa Tushi, Shobnom Bubly, Snigdha Chowdhury and Maria Shanto in lead roles, has drawn attention for its unconventional narrative and experimental style. The cast also includes Fazlur Rahman Babu and Chanchal Chowdhury in key supporting roles.
Taking to social media, Rafi thanked audiences for their response, noting that the level of support for a low-screen-count release had exceeded expectations. He described the film’s performance as a significant achievement for the team and said the reception would encourage future projects of a similar nature.
He added that Pressure Cooker, which leans towards an artistic and festival-oriented format, continues to perform steadily in theatres. The film has also received an invitation from the London Bengali Film Festival, which the director described as another positive development for the project.
Released during Eid-ul-Fitr, the film has remained in discussion since its debut, largely due to its storytelling approach and ensemble cast.
