Golam Farida Chhonda and Sunerah Binte Kamal are set to reunite as mother and daughter in a new drama directed by Rafat Majumder Rinku.
The two actresses previously played mother and daughter in Rinku’s drama Jhora Bokul, which crossed one crore views and received a strong response from audiences. They have now worked together again in another drama by the same director, although its title has not yet been finalised.
Shooting for the new production has already been completed at various locations in Mymensingh.
“Earlier, Sunerah and I played mother and daughter in Rinku’s Jhora Bokul and received a good response. We have now played the same relationship again in another drama directed by him. The story is very beautiful, and I hope audiences will like this one too,” Chhonda said.
She praised Sunerah’s growth as an actress and expressed even greater confidence in their latest project.
“Sunerah is a very good actress. She has become more mature in her acting and I believe she will do even better in the future. Yash Rohan has also acted with us in this drama. Overall, it has turned out very well, which is why I am more hopeful about this one than Jhora Bokul,” she added.
When she spoke about the project on 21 September, Chhonda was at Deepto TV, where she was busy shooting for the channel’s ongoing serial Khushbu. She also said she would act in another drama directed by Rinku within the next few days.
Meanwhile, Chhonda’s serial Amader Neel Bari, directed by Vicky Zahed, is set to air on Channel i soon. Another serial featuring her, Eri Naam Songsar, directed by Hasan Rezaul, will also be broadcast on Asian TV.
Sunerah was most recently in the spotlight for her role in Eta Amader Golpo, directed by Muhammad Mostofa Kamal Raj. Irfan Sajjad was her co-star in the serial.
Sunerah won her first National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film No Dorai. She was born in Rangpur, while her paternal family home is in Adamdighi, Bogura.
