Aupee Karim has singled out’ Pressure Cooker’ as one of the more distinctive Eid releases, praising its emphasis on storytelling and craft over formula.
Sharing her thoughts after the festive break, the actress noted that it was the only film she managed to watch during Eid, but one that left a lasting impression. She highlighted the film’s departure from conventional commercial elements, observing that it prioritises narrative depth and structure rather than relying on spectacle.
Karim also drew attention to the evolution of director Raihan Rafi, describing the film as a marked shift from his previous work. According to her, the project reflects a willingness to experiment with a more restrained and layered form of storytelling.
Among the performances, Nazifa Tushi received particular acclaim, with Karim noting the intensity and emotional weight she brings to the screen. She also acknowledged the contributions of Rizvi Rizu and Fazlur Rahman Babu, whose performances she described as memorable.
Beyond acting, Karim praised the film’s technical execution, citing careful attention to cinematography, editing, sound design and overall visual presentation. However, she suggested that tighter editing and a more streamlined narrative could have enhanced the viewing experience.
Despite these reservations, she commended the filmmaker for taking creative risks in a largely commercial industry, adding that such efforts contribute to the growth of more content-driven cinema.
