Pubali Bank PLC is intensifying its focus on digital banking and alternative delivery channels (ADC) as lenders compete to expand technology-driven financial services and attract retail customers.

The bank reviewed its first-quarter ADC business performance and future expansion plans at a business review meeting held recently at its head office auditorium, according to a press release.

The discussions focused on first-quarter business performance, growth strategies and action plans aimed at strengthening the bank’s ADC operations.

Officials also reviewed ways to improve customer access to digital banking services, accelerate business growth and enhance operational efficiency across different regions.

Banks in Bangladesh have been increasingly expanding digital and alternative banking services as customers shift towards online transactions, internet banking, agent banking and mobile-based financial platforms.

Pubali Bank Managing Director and CEO Mohammad Ali attended the programme as chief guest, while Deputy Managing Director Md Shahnewaz Khan joined as special guest. Pubali Bank Deputy General Manager and ADC Division Head Md Rabiul Alam presided over the meeting.

Regional managers from Dhaka North, Dhaka South, Dhaka Central, Narayanganj and Gazipur zones took part in the session alongside ADC officials, including branch sales and customer service teams.

Industry insiders say financial institutions are now prioritising ADC operations to lower operating costs, improve service delivery and widen financial inclusion beyond traditional branch networks.

The meeting also assessed zone-wise business activities and coordination between branch operations and ADC teams to improve future performance.
