Priyo has partnered with Stripe to expand cross-border payment capabilities for freelancers and remote workers, as platforms seek to simplify global transactions in a rapidly growing digital workforce.
The agreement was formalised following a visit by Priyo Founder and CEO Zakaria Swapan to Stripe’s headquarters in South San Francisco, where both sides aligned on improving payment access for users working with international clients.
The integration enables Priyo users to generate payment links and receive funds through multiple channels, including credit and debit cards, bank transfers across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe, as well as digital wallets and India’s UPI system.
Priyo said it plans to further expand its payment ecosystem in the coming months by adding Alipay and WeChat Pay, broadening access to the Chinese market.
The move comes as the freelance and remote work sector continues to grow, with payment collection remaining a key challenge, particularly for cross-border transactions.
Zakaria Swapan said the partnership is aimed at improving access to secure and compliant payment systems for global users.
“This partnership is about more than payments — it’s about enabling opportunity,” he said, adding that freelancers require simple and reliable ways to receive payments from abroad.
Stripe’s infrastructure will be combined with Priyo’s platform to streamline payment processes while maintaining compliance and security standards.
