Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC has launched Digital Dan Box, Bangla QR acquiring services and its “Digital and Cashless Campaign 2026”, as the lender steps up efforts to expand digital transactions and financial inclusion.

The initiatives were unveiled at the bank’s head office on Sunday, the bank said in a press release.

Chairman Khwaja Shahriar inaugurated the products and campaign as chief guest, while Managing Director Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan presided over the event.

The bank said the launch marks a step towards building a broader digital and cashless ecosystem, with a focus on seamless and secure financial services.

Khwaja Shahriar said application programming interface-driven technology is enabling integrated banking services and plays a key role in advancing a cashless economy.

He said the introduction of Digital Dan Box and Bangla QR payments would support fast, secure and transparent transactions, particularly in charitable activities.

Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan said the bank’s digital transformation efforts are aligned with the national goal of creating a cashless Bangladesh.

He said such initiatives would help expand financial inclusion and improve access to banking services for underserved communities.

In a welcome address, Deputy Managing Director Md Aminul Islam Bhuiyan said the bank had rolled out the Bangla QR-based Digital Dan Box and payment system ahead of the timeline set by Bangladesh Bank.

He said customers would be able to conduct transactions easily and securely using any banking or mobile financial services apps.

Deputy Managing Directors Md Abdullah Al Mamun, Md Fazlur Rahman Chowdhury, Md Asaduzzaman Bhuiyan, Mohammad Hossain, S M Abu Jafar and Syed Abul Hashem attended the event along with members of the management committee, divisional heads, senior executives and corporate branch managers.

Branch managers from across the country also joined the programme virtually.

The Digital Dan Box will allow customers to make donations through digital channels, while Bangla QR acquiring, both static and dynamic, will enable merchants and customers to complete instant transactions.

Through the campaign, the bank aims to promote digital payments, improve customer convenience and support wider adoption of cashless financial services.
