Modhumoti Bank PLC organised a roadshow in Jhenaidah last Thursday, to raise awareness among customers and businessmen about the convenience and benefits of using Bangla QR for digital transactions.
The initiative is part of Bangladesh Bank’s efforts to expand cashless and digital transactions, as well as the government’s broader efforts to promote digital payments, reads a press release.
Under the slogan, “One Country, One QR, Transactions with Bangla QR”, the bank conducted the roadshow across various shops in Jhenaidah.
As part of the campaign, bank officials distributed Bangla QR-enabled table toppers to an Apex showroom and other retail shops in Jhenaidah. They also encouraged public adoption by making live QR code payments themselves.
Mohammed Noor E Alam, SVP and head of Retail Banking; Abu Mohammad Zahed, VP and head of CMSME Business; officials of the Jhenaidah Branch; and valued customers from various professions were present on the occasion.
The initiative is expected to play an effective role in reducing the use of cash and promoting a more modern and efficient payment ecosystem.
