Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has congratulated the Bangladesh National Cricket Team for securing its first-ever One Day International (ODI) series victory against Australia.
Tarique Rahman expressed hope that the milestone would inspire the country’s youth to take a greater interest in sports and support Bangladesh on the international stage, said Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Mostafa Zulfiquar Hasan (Hasan Shiplu).
The prime minister lauded the team’s unity, discipline, and self-confidence, noting that these qualities would help the squad achieve even greater success in global cricket tournaments.
He extended his best wishes to the players, coaching staff, and everyone involved in the team’s historic accomplishment.
Bangladesh sealed the series with one match still to play after defeating Australia by five wickets under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method in the second ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday evening.
The Tigers had also won the first ODI at the same venue by 86 runs, also via the DLS method.
